Did You Know?

In 2005, Gargi began to distribute documentaries from India. She has been a pioneer in this field. "One of my principles interests was the fact that I was looking to bring into the public domain older films. This quest led me to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). We signed a MoU and took their catalogue for distribution. And over a few years I was able to convince them to put up all their films on their channel on YouTube. I encouraged Doordarshan to begin marketing some of their most popular shows in the DVD format. Similarly, I was able to convince the Films Division to digitize their content and also make DVDs available," she said.
