An independent filmmaker, Subha Das Mollick is a visiting faculty at the Aliah University and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. A post graduate in physics from Delhi University in 1979, Subha did a diploma in film production from Xavier Institute of Communications (Mumbai) in 1989. She taught physics at Mumbai's St. Xavier's College from 1983 to 1986. In the next two years, she taught postgraduate students of physics at New Delhi's Mother's International School. Subsequently, from 1988 to 1995, she was a lecturer in physics at Mumbai's St. Xavier's College. Subha has conducted a six-day filmmaking workshop with underprivileged children. At the end of the workshop, six films on plastic waste management were made. In 2015, she conducted 10 workshops on digital photography with underprivileged children. The photographs taken by the children were displayed at an exhibition titled Creatures in the Concrete Jungle. From 2011, she has been the founder secretary of Bichitra Pathshala, an organization committed to promoting learning with moving images. With 25 Kolkata schools, she has also been conducting a year-long project titled The Magic of my School.
