Sanjeet was always fascinated by documentaries and it so happened that the first opportunity that he got to turn into an independent filmmaker was to make one. A student of St Xavier's College, Sanjeet was exposed to world class documentaries very early in his life. His father, actor Basanta Chowdhury, instilled in him a culture of watching them. His father's interest in archaeology, anthropology and history created opportunities for him to watch documentaries on these subjects.
