An anthropological ethnographic film-maker, Bappa Ray has a keen interest in tribes and tribal development and has been documenting the lives and lifestyles of people in the rural, tribal and forest areas for the past four decades. As a result of Buddhist Chantings of Ladakh and dossier, Buddhist chantings were later selected by UNESCO in 2012 for preservation as Intangible Heritage.
