Bharati Devi

After being established as an actress, Bharati Devi used to stay in Rashbehari Avenue. The flat where she lived was a favourite adda-joint for many filmstars. Later, she built a house in Dhakuria. Today, the Dhakuria branch of the Indian Overseas Bank has its office on the building premises. A marble plaque - installed by the locals - mentions Bharati Devi's connection with the address.
