Bhanu Bandyopadhyay

Actor Bhanu Bandopadhyay used to stay on rent in a house in the Charu Market area. That house originally belonged to the early talkie era's actress - Debabala. Subsequently, Bhanu shifted to a different house in the same locality and took accommodation on rent there. Bhanu bought this house once Debabala's lease ended. Later, his house made way for a multi-storied apartment. In memory of the veteran actor, the apartment is named Bhanushree. The Kolkata Municipal Corporate has installed a board mentioning the history of that house.
