Ajoy Kar

Veteran director Ajoy Kar has lived in a rented accommodation all his life.  This house is located on the left flank of the road if one walks down Deshapriya Park to Gariahat. His father had actually taken this house on rent. Overlooking the road was a veradah where Ajoy would host the likes of Uttam Kumar and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay. That verandah no longer exists. A jewellery house has its showroom there now.
