Bappi Lahiri

Born in Kolkata, music composer-singer Bappi Lahiri spent his early childhood in Bansdroni. His parents, Aparesh and Bansari Lahiri, used to stay in a house rented by Dr Debendrachandra Sinha. For 11 years, Bappi's family lived in this house before shifting to Graham's Land near Indrapuri Studio. Bappi stayed there for another five to six years before he moving to Mumbai when he was 18-19. The house in Bansdroni where he lived is now in a dilapidated condition.
