KL Saigal

KL Saigal had come to Kolkata from Delhi to pursue his work for Remington Typewriter Company. During his stint in Kolkata, he gave radio auditions. Subsequently, he got in touch with BN Sircar, Raichand Boral and Pankaj Mullick and joined the New Theatres Company. It was this city that turned the singer-actor Saigal into a superstar. He worked with New Theatres at a stretch between 1931 and 1941. This house used to be his primary address during that decade.
