Suchitra Sen

Even in the late 1990s, most film-buffs walking down Ballygunje Circular Road must have hoped against hope to get at least one glimpse of Madam. Suchitra Sen's palatial house was also a point of attraction for many. Its interest didn't wane even when the house was demolished for constructing a flat. As Rama, Suchitra Sen had shifted from Bangladesh's Pabma to Ballygunje Place. Later, she bought a house in Bansdroni. The ownership of that house has since changed hands but a portrait of her hangs in its lobby today. A part of Ballygunje Circular Road is named after her too.
