Shyamal Mitra

His ancestral house was in Naihati's Banerjee para. Shyamal Mitra's father, who was a doctor, didn't take kindly to his ambition of becoming a singer. On his arrival to Kolkata, Shyamal first stayed at his aunt's house in Chakraberia. Then, he moved to  messing accommodation in Lake Market. Wedderburn Road in Lake area became his address once he tasted success. His house was open to all. Just next to the front door was a photo of his guru - Sudhirlal Chakraborty.
