Sandhya Mukhopadhyay

Her ancestral house in Dhakuria was surrounded by greenery. One day, she was sitting in the garden when a message was sent across to her to immediately rush out for recording. Sandhya Mukhopadhyay wasn't even supposed to sing. But destiny had other plans and she ended up recording Ei path jodi na shesh hoy. Her musical journey continued even at her Lake Gardens house where she lived with her husband - lyricist Shyamal Gupta. It was easy to locate the house with the S Gupta initials on its nameplate. Shyamal and Sandhya are no more. In June 2023, the house was demolished.
