Ritwik Ghatak

Born in Dhaka, Ritwik Ghatak's tryst with Rajshahi began when his father was posted there as a district magistrate. The front side of that house is now used by Rajshahi Homoeopathic Medical College. The living room is now used by students of the college. An old well used by the Ghatak family still remains. In Kolkata, Ritwik was initially Suchitra Sen's neighbour before moving to producer Pramod Gangopadhyay's house located behind Muktangan. After Surama Ghatak came to Kolkata, the couple started living in this house on Gangapada Mukherjee Road. It was this house that served as the location for Bhrigu's residence in Komal Gandhar. The rain scene with Supriya Devi was shot here too. There are many in the neighbourhood who have memories of the couple staying in this house.
