Memories remain but that's about it all. Not a single brick from the house where Pahari Sanyal lived in Hindustan Park has survived. Old-timers recall how the father figure of Bengali cinema, clad in a lungi, would often be seen in the verandah of his house. Today a highrise stands erect, having whitewashed every sign from the past.
