Mrinal Sen

Born in Bangladesh's Faridpur, Mrinal Sen shifted to Kolkata sometime in the 1940s as a 17-year-old. During his student days, he stayed in a messing accommodation in Sealdah. When his family moved to Kolkata post-Partition, their address was a flat in Beckbagan. After getting married to actress Geeta Sen, the couple moved to a one-room accommodation on the roof of a house on Ashwini Dutta Road. The next address was the ground floor of the house on 22/1/1/21 Manoharpukur Road in 1956. In 1969, the Sens moved again. This time to the first floor of a house on 4E Motilal Nehru Road. In 1980, after son Kunal got married, they moved houses again. This time, it was to the second floor of a house on 14 Beltala Road. In 2003, the Sens shifted to a flat at 38 Padmapukur Road. Geeta passed away at this residence in 2017. A year later, Mrinal breathed his last here on December 30, 2018.
