Manna Dey
The narrow Madan Ghosh Lane happens to be the seat of two eras of Bengali music from the times of Krishnachandra Dey to Manna Dey. A plaque is visible if one turns left from the famous sweetmeat shop of Nakur. There is a bust in front of the shop too. Songs continue to be played there. But all that one hears inside the narrow lane is the cooing of a flight of pigeons. The sound of music here is silent.
