Miss Light

Two friends - yesteryear actresses Tarakbala (Miss Light) and Renubala (Sukh) - used to stay in adjacent houses. Tarakbala had married KC Dey. Unfortunately, she wasn't accepted by her in-laws. Post the demise of KC Dey, Manna Dey used to still come down to meet her. Till this date, neighbours remember an old lady, lodged in the first floor of this house, playing records of Manna Dey and listening to them with rapt attention. She was none other than Bengal's first Parbati (Debdas, 1928)!
