Did You Know?
One of the regulars at Talkie Show House was director Ritwik Ghatak. He had watched Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita at this theatre. The memories of watching this movie helped him while making Subaranarekha. Along with Satyajit Ray, Ghatak too had watched Ivan The Terrible there. Ray was so moved by this screening that he got choked at night at night dreaming of the frightening images from this movie. Film scholars see influences of this screening in his films like Pather Panchali and even Charulata.
